Palace of Arts
Budapest and Hungary have waited a long time for a cultural institute meeting world standards, where world-famous artists also come to perform, and now they have it in The Palace of Arts.
The unique building is so special that it received the so-called Oscar of architectural real estate development, the „FIABCI Prix d’Excellence 2006”.
The Palace of Arts is located next to the Danube on the Pest side of the river, and it contains the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art, where you can admire the art of Glenn Brown, Robert Capa, Anton Corbijn and Keith Haring. We advise you to get a guide for the museum at the entrance. The biggest performance hall is named after the famous Hungarian composer Bela Bartok and it is highly praised for its great acoustics, not to mention the fascinating organ, which is often cited as “the organ of organs” with its 92 registers. The national concert hall is remarked in every guidebook as the fifth best hall of acoustics in the world.
Besides the concert hall, a Festival Theatre is also located in the building and it is equipped with the latest sound technology, making it a fantastic venue for dance, theatrical, world and pop music, chamber music, and jazz performances. There are also classical music and opera plays, just to name a few. Come check it out!
